C&rsquo;est une vue famili\u00e8re pour quiconque emprunte r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement l&rsquo;autoroute 89, mais ces temps-ci, elle repr\u00e9sente davantage \u2013 un point de tension dans les ambitions de l&rsquo;Ontario en mati\u00e8re de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques.<\/p>\n<p>Le premier ministre <strong>Doug Ford<\/strong> n&rsquo;a pas m\u00e2ch\u00e9 ses mots concernant l&rsquo;annonce r\u00e9cente de Honda de retarder son investissement pr\u00e9vu de 1,5 milliard de dollars dans la capacit\u00e9 de fabrication de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques en Ontario. \u00ab\u00a0On va leur mettre de la pression\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Ford lors d&rsquo;une conf\u00e9rence de presse \u00e0 Mississauga, son ton r\u00e9v\u00e9lant une frustration \u00e9vidente face \u00e0 la d\u00e9cision du constructeur japonais.<\/p>\n<p>Ce report d&rsquo;investissement repr\u00e9sente un revers important pour le secteur automobile ontarien, qui se positionnait comme un futur p\u00f4le de production de v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques en Am\u00e9rique du Nord. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.honda.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Honda<\/a> s&rsquo;\u00e9tait initialement engag\u00e9 \u00e0 r\u00e9outiller son usine d&rsquo;Alliston pour produire des v\u00e9hicules enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectriques \u00e0 partir de 2028, cr\u00e9ant ainsi une pierre angulaire dans la strat\u00e9gie provinciale de fabrication verte.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Quand les entreprises prennent des engagements envers les Ontariens, on s&rsquo;attend \u00e0 ce qu&rsquo;elles les respectent\u00a0\u00bb, a affirm\u00e9 Ford. \u00ab\u00a0On a cr\u00e9\u00e9 les conditions n\u00e9cessaires au succ\u00e8s \u2013 des tarifs d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 comp\u00e9titifs, une main-d&rsquo;\u0153uvre qualifi\u00e9e, un soutien gouvernemental \u2013 et on a besoin que nos partenaires tiennent leurs promesses.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Selon <strong>Jean Marc Leclerc<\/strong>, pr\u00e9sident-directeur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de Honda Canada, la d\u00e9cision d\u00e9coule \u00ab\u00a0de l&rsquo;\u00e9volution des conditions du march\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb plut\u00f4t que de probl\u00e8mes li\u00e9s \u00e0 l&rsquo;environnement d&rsquo;affaires de l&rsquo;Ontario. \u00ab\u00a0L&rsquo;adoption des V\u00c9 par les consommateurs se fait plus graduellement que pr\u00e9vu\u00a0\u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Leclerc dans un communiqu\u00e9. \u00ab\u00a0Nous ajustons notre \u00e9ch\u00e9ancier pour assurer l&rsquo;alignement avec la demande r\u00e9elle du march\u00e9.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le gouvernement ontarien a investi massivement pour attirer les fabricants de V\u00c9, avec pr\u00e8s de 30 milliards de dollars d&rsquo;engagements obtenus au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, incluant des projets majeurs de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vw.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Volkswagen<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stellantis.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Stellantis<\/a> et des fabricants de batteries.
