Cette d\u00e9cision envoie un message clair \u00e0 la direction de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 de transport de Montr\u00e9al (STM) alors que les tensions s&rsquo;intensifient dans ce conflit de travail qui dure depuis plusieurs mois.<\/p>\n<p>En tant que personne qui navigue quotidiennement dans notre ville, tant professionnellement que personnellement, j&rsquo;ai constat\u00e9 de premi\u00e8re main \u00e0 quel point nos services de m\u00e9tro et d&rsquo;autobus sont essentiels au c\u0153ur battant de Montr\u00e9al. Cette potentielle interruption de travail pourrait affecter pr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un demi-million de navetteurs quotidiens qui d\u00e9pendent du r\u00e9seau.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Nous ne prenons pas \u00e0 la l\u00e9g\u00e8re la perspective de perturbations de service \u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le repr\u00e9sentant syndical <b>Marc-Andr\u00e9 Beauchemin<\/b> dans un communiqu\u00e9 hier. \u00ab Ce vote d\u00e9montre le s\u00e9rieux de nos pr\u00e9occupations concernant les conditions de travail et notre engagement \u00e0 obtenir une entente \u00e9quitable. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le syndicat, repr\u00e9sentant pr\u00e8s de <b>5 000<\/b> travailleurs du transport en commun, dont des chauffeurs, du personnel d&rsquo;entretien et des agents de station, est sans contrat depuis janvier. Les points d&rsquo;achoppement incluent la flexibilit\u00e9 des horaires, des augmentations salariales qui suivent l&rsquo;inflation et l&rsquo;am\u00e9lioration des mesures de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 \u2014 des enjeux devenus de plus en plus urgents dans notre r\u00e9alit\u00e9 post-pand\u00e9mique.<\/p>\n<p>La direction de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stm.info\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">STM<\/a> a r\u00e9pondu par un communiqu\u00e9 soulignant son engagement envers les n\u00e9gociations : \u00ab Nous restons d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 trouver des solutions qui \u00e9quilibrent les besoins de nos employ\u00e9s avec notre r\u00e9alit\u00e9 financi\u00e8re et notre responsabilit\u00e9 de fournir un service fiable aux Montr\u00e9alais. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Le moment ne pourrait \u00eatre plus difficile pour notre ville. Avec la saison automnale qui s&rsquo;intensifie, la rentr\u00e9e scolaire et un tourisme encore fort, une perturbation des transports cr\u00e9erait d&rsquo;importants effets d&rsquo;entra\u00eenement dans toute l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie m\u00e9tropolitaine.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les donn\u00e9es de la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccmm.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Chambre de commerce du Montr\u00e9al m\u00e9tropolitain<\/a>, les perturbations du transport en commun pourraient co\u00fbter \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9conomie locale jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 <b>11 millions de dollars<\/b> par jour, les petites entreprises des quartiers adjacents aux stations de m\u00e9tro \u00e9tant particuli\u00e8rement vuln\u00e9rables.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Il ne s&rsquo;agit pas seulement des travailleurs du transport et de la direction \u00bb, note l&rsquo;analyste \u00e9conomique Sophie Trudeau de l&rsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.concordia.ca\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Universit\u00e9 Concordia<\/a>. \u00ab Quand notre syst\u00e8me de transport vacille, cela affecte tout le monde, des employ\u00e9s de restaurants aux \u00e9tudiants universitaires en passant par les professionnels de la sant\u00e9 qui tentent de rejoindre leur lieu de travail. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>En traversant la station Berri-UQAM hier apr\u00e8s-midi, j&rsquo;ai parl\u00e9 avec plusieurs usagers de la potentielle gr\u00e8ve.
